I'm the girl who doesn't take her conference badge off at the after-party.

I attended my first eduWeb conference last week. There, I presented in the marketing track a presentation called “No Such Thing as TMI: How to Create a Culture of (Content) Sharing”. I was stoked to return to Boston, meet new higher ed web friends, reconnect with other higher ed pals, and also visit with two close friends who now call Beantown home.

As promised, I’m sharing my slides on this website. Please note, though, that many of these slides are just visuals to stories I told in person; many of these may require context to get the full effect of the presentation. Nonetheless, I hope you find this helpful. Also, I am slated to present this same session at the now SOLD-OUT! HighEdWeb 2012 (#heweb12) in Milwaukee* this October. I plan to tweak this presentation and add new case studies so that it differs a bit for anyone who will have already seen it. Love keeping things fresh!

So, here it is:

One question from the audience was about how I came up with the Guide to Social Media I’ve developed for Elizabethtown College (will be available next month). I actually used a Social Media Guide for Authors publication I created as part of my MFA internship for Etruscan Press as the main inspiration, but I also mentioned a few colleges that have kick-ass online and/or PDF social media guides/guidelines. I will share those here:

In the nature of this post and the presentation about which I am writing, I hope you will share these ideas with your colleagues!

I will share more thoughts and takeaways from #eduweb12 in a future post.

*I cannot wait to see this city and also tweet to people scheduled to arrive before I do, “Baxter, bark twice if you’re in Milwaukee.”
